Thank you and apologies from Somonauk Summer Recreation. We had an oversight in thanking all of our fine sponsors for the “wheel-o-meat” raffle and wish to include the Fox Valley Family YMCA in Sandwich. The YMCA stepped up in a big way with its donation and must be acknowledged for such assistance. We’ll do a better job next year and thank you again

A huge thank you goes to the Sandwich businesses that participated in our Sandwich American Legion Auxiliary 181 Poppy Days on May 10-11. Included were Art’s Super Mart, ACE Hardware, Bacaba Liquors, Route 34 North Shell Gas, Casey’s, Country Market and Sandwich Castle Bank, which even posted their marquees with Poppy Day information.

The Somonauk teachers would like to thank the community of Somonauk for passing the recent referendum. Because of your vote, our students will continue to have the programming and extracurricular opportunities that they deserve. We would like to thank the group Citizens for Somonauk Schools for the countless hours they spent communicating the importance of this referendum.

Fox Valley Older Adult Services would like to thank the many sponsors, volunteers and others who contributed to the success of our 20th annual dinner dance and auction on Saturday, May 4.

What to do about a bee swarm

We would like to thank everyone who made our Veterans Fair at the VFW in Sandwich a success on Saturday, April 20. We hope we were able to help everyone who stopped in with questions.

Somonauk Summer Recreation wishes to thank all of the donors for helping make the inaugural “Wheel-O-Meat” fundraiser a great success. Rambo’s Bar & Grill was more than hospitable in hosting the event, as well as contributing raffle prizes.
