PLANO — Plano School District No. 88 has announced the employment of Hector Garcia as the new superintendent of schools. He will replace Laurel Walker, who will retire on June 30 after serving Plano schools for 31 years as teacher, guidance counselor, principal, curriculum director and superintendent.

A staircase that literally leads nowhere. A roof that leaks so bad at times books have to be covered with trash bags to protect them. Another staircase, leading from the basement to the first floor, that is so narrow and winding, visitors are asked to go outside and around the building to get from one floor to another rather than use it.
