Farm Friends, located at 45W134 Raymond Road in Big Rock, is a bonus stop in the Open Roads ABATE Chapter Summer Run Book.

Farm Friends assists individuals with special challenges and their families by providing suitable workshops, enjoyable recreational activities and therapeutic programs for people with unique needs in a peaceful, rural farm setting. The facility also hosts weddings, reunions and family gatherings.

Riders participating in the Summer Run Book event can get their book stamped here and will be eligible for the cash drawings on Oct. 6 with at least 40 stops stamped by Sept. 30. Future dates to get books stamped are Sunday, July 8, and Sunday, Aug. 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

To get an Open Roads ABATE Chapter Summer Run Book, call Linda at 630-552-3828 or Sally at 815-786-8171. Books cost $10, with proceeds to be applied to safety and education within the ABATE chapter and for cash prizes on Oct. 6.

The objectives of the book run are for people to ride/drive to the businesses included in the book, find new interests, and plan group outings. Most businesses are located from Route 47 to the Mississippi River and from Interstate 80 to the Wisconsin line.
