5:15 p.m. reception, 6 p.m. dinner Tuesday, March 20, at Grandma’s Table Restaurant, 1700 Douglas Road. Dinner includes a choice of three entrées (fish, chicken or beef), soup or salad, dinner rolls, vegetables, dessert and nonalcoholic drink. Cost is $20. A lower cost salad entrée can be purchased for $12. The speaker will be Lt. Col. Vincent K. Catich, USAF (Ret.). He will present “My 15 Years Flying the U-2 Spy Plane,” about his early naval flying career, his transfer to the Air Force flying the U-2 spy plane, and discuss the plane and its missions, which contributed to intelligence gathering for national security.

The Life of Helen Keller

Jackson St. Celebrating National Woman’s History Month, historian Jim Gibbons will describe Helen Keller’s childhood and how it transformed her into the role model she became. He will discuss how Keller was awarded several honors before and after her death, had a movie made about her life, and became an inspiration to many. Open to the public.
