SANDWICH – Tickets are selling quickly for Indian Valley Theatre’s final shows of its special two-weekend engagement of “On Golden Pond.”
Directed by Matthew Johnson, written by Ernest Thompson, with rights by Dramatist Play Service Inc., the show will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 10, and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at the Sandwich Opera House, 140 E. Railroad St. in Sandwich.
This is the love story of Ethel and Norman Thayer. He is a retired professor, nearing 80, with heart palpitations and a failing memory – but still as tart-tongued, observant and eager for life as ever. Ethel, 10 years younger, and the perfect foil for Norman, delights in all the small things that have enriched and continue to enrich their long life together. In the final, deeply moving moments of the play, Norman and Ethel are brought even closer together by the incidence of a mild heart attack.
Tickets cost $15 in advance and can be purchased online at www.indianvalleytheatre.com or $18 at the door one hour before curtain.
