Plano High School recently announced its students and staff of the month for January.
PHS staff nominated students for Student of the Month for the month of January. Students are nominated for PRIDE behavior (Personal responsibility, Respect, Involved academically, Demonstrates safe behavior, and Excellence in what they do).
Some reasons for nomination include displaying a positive attitude, great effort and preparation for class, going beyond expectations in class, actively participating in class, taking advantage of opportunities for growth, setting a good example for other students as a role model, acting as an advocate for peers, showing academic and personal growth.
Students of the Month for January are Aaron Guerrero, Nico Velazquez, May Long, Sydnie Patton-Johnson, Dustin Noto, Anna Gonzalez, Emi McGray and Raymond Russell-Vaughn.
Students and administration nominated staff members for Staff Member of the Month for January. Reasons for nomination include supporting struggling students to succeed, providing a comfortable environment for students to excel, building excellent relationships with students and staff, actively supporting a positive environment and culture for students and staff, excellent organizational skills, translating messages from parents to staff, and supporting students with opportunities available to them.
Staff Members of the Month for January are Lauren Elgersma, Kate Ozarka, Linda Oleson, Jim Schmidt, Christine Bolin, Josie Jardines, Jessica Dellorto, John Chernick and Kristin Still.
Students and staff members received a certificate and a breakfast in their honor.
