P.E.O. founders celebrated

Twelve members of the Philanthropic Education Organization, Chapter FO Sandwich, attended the Founders’ Day Luncheon on Nov. 11 at Whitetail Ridge Golf Club in Yorkville. The annual event honors the seven founders. P.E.O. is one of the oldest women’s organizations in North America. What started with a bond of friendship between seven young women in 1889 has grown to more than 6,000 local chapters with nearly 250,000 members in the U.S. and Canada.
