Worship in the park

The ecumenical worship in Lathrop Park was held Aug. 6. This year’s ministry was sponsored by the First Baptist, First Lutheran and the United Methodist Church of Plano. Pastor Terry Jensen of First Baptist welcomed everyone and led “The Church’s One Foundation.” Pastor Jonathan Black of First Lutheran shared an opening prayer. Scripture from Ephesians 4:1-6, John 17:20-26 and Joshua 6:16-17, 20 were read by members from all three churches. Pastor Stevan Saunders of United Methodist Church led in the passing of the peace, benediction and the sending. All three churches led in singing hymns both individually and leading with everyone singing. All congregation members sang “They’ll Know We Are Christians By Our Love” as the recessional hymn.
