Car Show and Pig Roast

11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, at Newark American Legion Post 459, 606 Fennel Road. The hog roast meal will be served from 1 to 5 p.m. and cost $10 for adults and $5 for children. Drawings will be held for a 50/50 raffle and gift cards worth $500 including oil changes, car washes, restaurant certificates, and a 16-hour concealed carry course. Smallville Superfest Book Sale

Through Saturday, Sept. 2, at the Plano Community Library, 15 W. North St. The Friends of the Library Book Sale will be held in the meeting room during regular library hours. Beginning Aug. 26 all items will be sold for $4 a bag, and VHS tapes and audio cassettes will be free.

Line Dancing and Lessons

New Life for Old Bags

American Legion Fish Fries
