Don’t forget to get your tickets for Indian Valley Theatre’s next production, “The Unsinkable Molly Brown,” directed by Kathie Hart.
Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. July 14 and 15 and 2 p.m. July 16 at the historic Sandwich Opera House, 140 E. Railroad St. in Sandwich.
The show features miners, brawls, pretty girls, love, romance, maritime disasters and Meredith Willson’s music and lyrics. “The Unsinkable Molly Brown” is the rags-to-riches love story of Molly and Leadville Johnny Brown, owners of the richest mine in the U.S. at the turn of the 20th century.
This spirited tale of a legendary, real-life American original follows the exploits of Molly Brown, whose feisty determination to rise above her impoverished beginnings leads her from the backwoods of Hannibal, Missouri, to the palaces of Europe.
Along the way, she marries a lucky prospector, enters the highest echelons of Monte Carlo society, survives the sinking of the Titanic and earns the approval she so desperately seeks of those "Beautiful People of Denver."
Tickets cost $18 in advance and $20 at the door and can be purchased online at indianvalleytheatre.com or at the box office at the Opera House up until 30 minutes before showtime if seats are available. A four-show ticket package also is available.
Indian Valley Theatre is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the appreciation and development of the performing arts in the Fox Valley area.
