Indian Valley Theatre recently announced that Plano High School graduate Zoe Michaels is the recipient of its first Mimi Bryan Memorial IVT Scholarship.
“From Indian Valley Theatre’s very first days, Mimi Bryan was there,” said a news release from the theater group. “She was part of one of the passionate founding families dreaming big about live community theater. As a longtime educator, Mimi was active on stage as well as behind the scenes. Most importantly, she was instrumental in giving many budding actors a shot on stage and bringing Community Theater to life for hundreds of members of the Fox Valley community to enjoy.”
Michaels was presented with the award at a recent Plano High School Awards Night.
Michaels will attend Blackburn College in the fall, majoring in history education with a minor in theater.
She has been a dedicated member of IVT for many years and has appeared in numerous productions such as “Best Christmas Pageant,” You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown,” “Snoopy: The Musical,” “The Wizard of Oz” and “The Dining Room,” among others.
She has appeared in several Sandwich Fair Melodramas and has been an active participant in the Summer Theater Workshop programs.
Michaels has also been seen in theatrical productions with Fox Country Players, Stagecoach and at Plano High School.
