New Life for Old Bags

North St. Volunteers turn discarded plastic shopping bags into plastic yarn to be crocheted into sleeping mats for the homeless. Donations of plastic bags can be left at the library. Armed Forces Run
8 a.m. Saturday, June 10, at Sandwich VFW, 713 S. Main St. American Legion Riders Post 181 will host this ride to Pontiac that begins and ends at the Sandwich VFW. There will be two stops along the way. Donations are $15 per bike and $10 per passenger. Registration is from 8 to 9 a.m. and all bikes leave at 9:10 a.m. Enjoy a continental breakfast, raffles and a 50/50. A pork chop dinner will be available for purchase at 4:30 p.m. Cost is $10 ($12 regular price) when you register for the ride. Disco Zombie Fun Run
6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 17, at the Sandwich Fairgrounds. As darkness falls, participants in this approximate 1-mile run will maneuver through zombies, obstacles and mazes.
