Somonauk Cub Scouts donate park bench

Somonauk Cub Scout Pack 335 completed a service project for Earth Day and donated a bench in Somonauk Community Park that was made out of plastic bottle tops. Three hundred pounds of plastic lids were collected to make the bench. It was placed inside the playground area on the west end. They also presented the park with a new flowering pear tree that replaces a tree located on the east end by the water spicket. Village President Aaron Grandgeorge was present to accept the bench and a flowering pear tree. Brandi Levick, Matt Gilbert and Melissa Mosher are Scoutmasters of Pack 335.
