Wii Bowler Leon Dettman shows his perfect score of 300 in the game. FVOAS is hosting a Wii Bowling Tournament this year as a fundraiser.

The Fox Valley Older Adult Services is inviting area residents to form teams and participate in the first Wii Bowling Tournament from noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Fox Valley Community Center, 1406 Suydam Road, Sandwich.

Proceeds will benefit Fox Valley Older Adult Services.

For many years FVOAS has hosted a traditional bowling tournament at several very supportive bowling establishments. With the popularity of Wii Bowling, especially among area seniors, this year’s tournament will be held at the Community Center.

Support FVOAS by bringing your team to bowl or by collecting pledges. The team with the most dollars collected will win a prize along with the individual raising the most pledge dollars. Everyone is encouraged to collect pledges.

For more information on this fun event, how to form a team, collect pledges and join in the fun, call Becky or Patty at FVCC at 815-786-9404.

Each bowler will receive a free soft drink and slice of pizza. There will also be a cash bar available along with snacks.

All proceeds from this event support FVOAS, serving seniors in DeKalb, Kane, Kendall, LaSalle and Bureau counties through active adult activities, adult day service, home services, transportation and lunch with their partner, Voluntary Action Center, for over four decades. These programs and services ensure that seniors continue to live vibrant, independent and healthy lives in their own homes.
