PLANO — The administration, faculty and staff at Plano High School invite all parents of seniors at Plano, Somonauk and Newark High Schools to attend a Financial Aid Night at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30 at Plano High School. Enter at Door 3 on the west side, and go up the stairs to the large group instruction room.
Topics will include the financial aid process, completing the FAFSA form, grant and scholarship programs, employment opportunities, federal loan programs and other financial aid resources.
Counselors from Plano, Somonauk and Newark will be available to explain options available to pay for a college education and to help with the process applying for financial aid. A Spanish version of the presentation will take place on the same night.
A follow-up workshop is planned to help parents and senior students complete the FAFSA forms online. Completion Night will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11 in the Plano High School Media Center Computer Lab. Plano High student services staff and Spanish interpreters will assist in completing the financial aid forms online.
Parents attending need to bring their 2012 tax information, Social Security numbers for all residents in the home, and all financial paperwork (bank statements, IRA/retirement account information, additional sources of income).
