The winners of the holiday decoration contest were Rich and Rhonda Crissip for traditional decorations and Tom and Carolyn Grzanich for the contemporary category.
The date of March 2 was announced for the Cabin Fever Dance at Leland High School from 6 to 8 p.m. following the pork chop and chicken dinner presented by students as a fundraiser for a trip to Washington, D.C. This year there will be an hour of dance lessons by John Pajkos prior to the dance included in the ticket price.
The student council also will provide fruit and cheese plates, and cracker and veggie snacks as well as nonalcoholic blended fruit drinks resembling cocktails.
The “Antique Road Show” planned for April has been canceled as the appraiser’s charges were too high.
There was discussion on the Civil War re-enactment planned this summer at Villa Farm. A firm date will be established soon.
During the new business portion of the meeting, three volunteers were selected to take down the holiday decorations in the park. Dale Kidd, Jim Spring and Craig Decker agreed to take care of this project.
Officers elected were president Laurinda Kidd, vice president Kathie Decker, treasurer Gayle Sherrill and secretary Joann Robinson.
The association will meet next on Thursday, Feb. 7 in the school media center. Interested community members are welcome.
