90th birthday serenade

Aurora’s Legacy Girls sang at Phil Burns’ 90th birthday party in August at the Leon Burson American Legion Post 395 in Plano. A Legion member for many years, Burns has been a member in Plano for more than 15 years. Burns was born Aug. 25, 1922 in Oak Park. He enlisted in the U.S. Naval Air Force on Dec. 7, 1942. The Legacy Girls sing songs made popular by the Andrews Sisters and generally are on hand to send off World War II veterans on the Honor Flight from Midway Airport to Washington, D.C.
