SOMONAUK — The 2012-13 Somonauk village vehicle stickers are available for purchase as of May 1 at Somonauk Village Hall, 131 S. Depot St. Any sticker purchased after May 31 will be fined according to Title 6, Chapter 1, Section 6-1-5.

License fees are $10 for automobiles, trucks and motorcycles. Vehicle owners 65 and older can purchase vehicle stickers at a reduced fee of $5 per vehicle. The sticker must be displayed on the right side of the vehicle window on the front or back.

Antique vehicles that are registered with antique plates are exempt. Off-road vehicles with proof that a vehicle is classified as an “off-road vehicle” are exempt from sticker requirements, but verify with the Somonauk Police Department that it meets the requirements of an off-road vehicle.

If the sticker is not purchased by June 1, fees double. If a vehicle sticker is not purchased by Sept. 1, the applicant will pay a fine of $25 in addition to the double vehicle sticker fee.

All revenues from sticker fees shall be used for street and alley improvements or repairs.
