Concert benefits high school music program

PLANO — Indian Valley Community Band’s 26th annual spring concert is set for 2 p.m., Sunday, April 29 in the Plano High School auditorium, 704 W. Abe St. For the first time ever, the band is performing a fundraiser to benefit the Plano Music Department.

Parking is free, the building is handicapped-accessible, and the concert is open to the public. Donations will be accepted at the door and will go directly to Plano’s Music Department.

Appropriate for the whole family, the band plays rousing Sousa marches, crowd-pleasing show tunes and other musical favorites. IVCB has been entertaining audiences around the Fox Valley area since 1986 and its intergenerational members are from Sandwich, Plano, Somonauk, Earlville, Sheridan, Yorkville, Newark, Sugar Grove, Aurora and Montgomery.

For more information, contact any band member or president Jean McBride at 630-552-3875.
